Some 3 1/2 billion years ago, the world was changed forever. Tiny organizms appeared with the ability to convert sunlight, warmth, water and minerals into protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and amino acids, marking the beginning of life. Phytoplankton, the single cell plants that are the basis of all other life forms on this planet, are the 'vegetation' of the ocean.
These phytoplankton are the food utilized by marine creatures such as whales and fish. Marine phytoplankton are tiny organisms that have the ability to convert sunlight, warmth, water and minerals into protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and amino acids. These single-celled plants are the 'vegetation' of the oceans and basis of all other life forms on earth. Phytoplankton are responsible for making up to 90% of the earth's oxygen.
When Tom Harper, the owner of a facility that grows marine phytoplankton, was diagnosed with a terminal form of lung cancer, intuition compelled him to turn to the phytoplankton. After eating small quantities of this strange substance, he found his health rapidly restored. Not only was the cancer a thing of his past, but his life-long challenge to maintain a healthy weight was finally achieved, and he was able to eliminate his use of insulin - a product that he had been dependent on for 17 years.
Following on from his discovery, millions of dollars and years of research have resulted in a patent-pending process, discovered on Vancouver Island, Canada, that allows the "spring bloom" of marine phytoplankton to be naturally grown and harvested on land, in a controlled environment, without damage to the planetary environment. In fact, more phytoplankton are returned to the ocean than were contained in the original sea water that was originally brought in.
"Spring bloom" is an event that occurs in temperate coastal waters, such as those along parts of Vancouver Island, every spring, when conditions of light, nutrients and mixing are optimal. Under these conditions a diverse assortment of microalgae species, including the primary producers called diatoms, grow very rapidly.
Using an exclusive patent-pending technology, over 200 species of phytoplankton are reproduced on land with proprietary harvesting and extraction processes that combine the benefits of phytonutrients with a natural and balanced composition of sea minerals.
Containing a wide range of trace elements, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, enzymes and cellular materials, phytoplankton promotes and maintains optimum health by boosting and supporting all systems within the body. When the body is missing critical components, it is unable to maintain the balance of these systems, and malfunctions (disease) result. Overdependence on land-based food sources often lead to deficiencies in micronutrients and trace elements. The phytoplankton are Nature's gift to assist us on our journey to optimal health and wellness through balanced nutrition.
"It makes sense that having depleted the quality of our soils with intensive farming, we are now turning our attention to the oceans," says Carl Munson, a natural health practitioner and phytoplankton fan. "I've been waiting for a super food like this, which contains some of the finest health-enhancing ingredients known to man such as aloe vera, noni juice and mangosteen. It also features the added benefits of frankincense and the powerful sea algae Astaxanthin."
"It's such a valuable contribution to all-round good health and I am reassured to know that Tom's production process actually causes a net increase in the phytoplankton population, rather than depleting it," adds Carl.
